After getting the basics of a juicy burger down pat in Part 1, we decided to start experimenting. Read on to find out how we worked with Astons Steak and Salad to turn a basic burger recipe into a more nutritious and exotic dish.

This round, we are making the “Fiery Nutri-licious Burger” with alfalfa sprouts, cherry tomatoes, avocado and loads of spices for a highly nutritious burger with a punch! Who says healthy food can’t be tasty?

Tip: A whole box of Alfalfa Sprouts comes at only $3-$4 at NTUC or Cold Storage

Ingredients:
1. 1 Hamburger bun, halved
2. 1 Egg, beaten
3. 1 Handful of Alfalfa sprouts
4. 3 Cherry Tomatoes, sliced
5. ½ Avocado, scooped
6. 150gm Lean beef mince (Other options: Chicken mince)
7. Spices: Garlic Powder, Chilli Powder, Red Pepper Flakes and Paprika
8. Herb Options: Dried rosemary, Dried Thyme, Dried Basil and/or Mixed Herbs
9. Salt and Pepper
10. Herb Mustard


Method:

1. Prepare minced beef in a bowl, add half a beaten egg, spices, herbs, salt & pepper.
2. Roll into ball and press into flat rounded patty.
3. Pan fry the patties for five minutes on each side.
**Bonus Tip – Use the rest of the beaten egg mixture by pan frying in your already hot pan.
4. Toast the inner side of the hamburger bun till slightly brownish.
5. Stack the avocado, alfalfa sprouts, beef patty and tomatoes.
6. Mix in any kinds of dried or fresh herbs into your mustard and spread on bun.
7. Ready to serve.


The Final Product
